The Benefits of a Green Roof

The Benefits of a Green Roof

Designed specifically to support plant life, green roofs offer incredible benefits for your building and the local environment. They actively help to:

  • Improve the thermal insulation of your building.

  • Significantly reduce rainwater run-off.

  • Enhance local biodiversity by providing habitats for wildlife.

  • Create a much more sustainable and eco-friendly building environment.

Green Roof Maintenance

To ensure your living roof thrives year after year, routine care is essential. To maintain a green roof, you should regularly remove weeds, clear away seasonal debris, and check the drainage systems. Monitoring plant health and conducting regular professional inspections will help keep the roof performing perfectly and significantly extend its lifespan.

Case Study

Green Roof - Romsey

We installed a SILTEC single-ply warm roof system on this new-build bungalow in Romsey, providing a durable and energy-efficient waterproofing solution.

Scope of Works

Once the roof system was complete, we installed the green roof build-up, consisting of:

  • 3.5mm protection fleece

  • Aluminium separation trim

  • 2mm filter fleece

  • 20mm drainage board

  • 100mm substrate

  • Wildflower blanket system

  • 500mm river stone border around the perimeter
